Results of The Southern Tourney This is a report of the Southern Tournament played at Royal Vista Inn, Hot Spring, Arkansas on July 24-28, We had 73 players, 24 in the Master Division, 17 in the Major Division, and 32 in the Minor Division. We had one to become ill and had to be hospitalized, Mr. Cully Walker. The players made up a donation to assist in the expense of flying him home.
Master Division winners were: Richard Hallett - 1st, Ron King, Dr H. L. Cravens, and Everett Fuller tied for 2nd place, 4th Place (in that order), Ed Bruch, Paul Davis, and Elbert Lowder tied for 5th Place, 7th place, Hugh Burton and Laverne Dibble tied for 8-9th place, Schwartz and Laverty tied for 10-11th place, R. A. Armstrong and William Scott tied for 12th and 13th place.
Major Division winners were: W. Stewart, B. Cooper, Babbard, Nelson, Guthrie, Lipscomb, Defendenfer, Hayner, Marshall, Smith, Jordan, and Ready.
Minor Division winners were: E. Donnelson, E. McConnell, J. Butler, D. Metheny, F. Wilson, W. Hubson, J. Morris, Fedderson, R. Johnson, J. Ramia, H. Sample, H. Smith, W. Hicks, D. Jackson, N. Boland and C. Gibson, N. Boland, and W. Holder.
Total of 73 players, 24 in the Master Division, 17 in the Majors Division and 32 in the Minor Division.
